But, and always but, if you can afford it, being a fashion blogger, besides its international aspect, is a letter of recommendation to get in to all the renowned catwalks. If you are smart enough, they will even pay for your trips and expenses. So here we are, approaching the global catwalk for the 2011 spring-summer collection. You may wonder what a global catwalk means. It is the catwalk that goes wherever you go, from Valencia Fashion Week to Gran Canarias Moda Cálida in June, and Barcelona, New York, Madrid, Milan, Paris, Burgos, London, Copenhagen, Berlin, Miami, Tokyo, Rio do Janeiro, Mexico... I just can’t go any further!
The global community has altered the unique catwalk, ubiquitous even in Narnia’s land, without any effort. At the stroke of a pen, the fashion blogger has unified the Chanel catwalk in Paris with that of Juan Vidal in Valencia. The cool trend hunters no longer talk about one catwalk or another but what has been seen on them. And very soon, about what it has been shown on the catwalk of the global village of fashion, the Global Village of Fashion Week, or GVFW.
Have you been to the GVFW? asked a globaliser to a fashion victim. Yes, but I missed the New York catwalks. We can all get a seat at the front row at our computers according to this new and unique idea of fashion: gazing at the catwalks as if they were designers, launching unique trends from the places of origin that form the world catwalk calendar, and creating brands for presentation.
Ladies and gentlemen, we have the Only and Unique Fashion Show. Neither Madrid nor Barcelona have been able to get it. The New York designer presents the urban uniform as a main uniform for day and night, Spain and Italy goes for dark colours and minimal materials, and France preserves luxury, while all together they again transform the mini-skirt into a must-have for the season.
There’s no arguing about tastes and colours, and many things have been written about fashion, or check out the list of bloggers on line.
