Retail fashion shows

Retail fashion parades are making headway in their efforts to showcase their best products.
There is no better initiative to combat the current crisis than a fashion drive. Retailers have always had a close relationship with the catwalk but, in contrast to their former individual approach to presenting their wares, they are now up there on the catwalk sporting their best for the community and gaining effectiveness, impact and spectacularity.
From shops selling anything from fashion to household items, accessories, shoes or gifts, no one is excluded from this event which is becoming a fixed date in the annual calendar of cities and municipalities with a progressive outlook.
Although still in their infancy, these shows are welcomed and applauded by retail merchants associations. However, the best thing is, undoubtedly, seeing the most emblematic areas in the city transformed into makeshift catwalks, in the style of the latest Chanel fashion show held in the streets of Saint Tropez.
Just like the best fashion weeks in the world, launching the season’s latest trends and products is a show for all audiences, where children tread the catwalk boards for the first time and neighbours make excellent improvised models.
Beauty salons, hairdressers, pet shops etc., the retailers call the shots for a day. Fashion is not the only star of the show - everybody has a part to play in these events, which are proving to be hugely successful wherever they are held.
This initiative brings with it endless benefits. Traders have a unique opportunity to showcase their products, and customers —without having to move too far from the comfort of their seats— can find the perfect window display in their local shopping centre and avoid long queues and journeys, to put together their fashion list for the season in their own city.
Real advances are being made, with positive effects for all of us who live in areas that are committed to progress. There are already a significant number of municipalities who are taking a venture with these shows. At the end of the day, fashion always proves to be the best solution.
Recent examples of these live fashion shows are Algemesí and Burjassot which, with the support of their retail merchants associations and the dynamism of the more participative shops, provide a fashion hot spot in their respective districts.
