With paintings, restoration is intended to reveal the original work, to discover the invisible, obscured by the patina of time, subsequent interventions or through reuse. The temporary exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts shows the technical documentation and scientific procedures used by museums and universities, e.g. high-resolution infrared reflectology for the diagnosis, restoration and conservation of cultural assets. A didactic approach to discovering those “hidden strokes”.
