Anita O’Day
Anita sings for Oscar
There’s no better record than Anita sings for Oscar (Anita sings the most) to sum up the legendary Anita O’Day, considered the best white jazz singer by many. The Oscar in question is none other than pianist Oscar Peterson, here fronting his quartet. In this 1957 session, they challenge each other and the sparks of swing fly, as do the ballads. As a bonus track is the excellent Pick yourself up (1956) with the Buddy Bregman Orquestra.
